Table Topper

We had a bridal shower at work for one of the young women that is getting married in a month or so... I made these 3 seasonal table toppers for her. She already has a Halloween one and a Christmas one that I made for her, so I thought it might be a good idea to add to the set....I think she liked them.....

The Guitar Quilt

I think I posted a picture of this quilt top a few weeks ago....... ok, maybe more than a few....... Here it is all quilted and bound.... The guitar print is on the back.

A few finishes....in no particular order

I know, I haven't written anything in a few weeks. There's really not much going on around here. The weather keeps teasing us.... spring, then back to winter again, etc. I did finish 2 baby quilts, and one big quilt. The big quilt is a graduation gift. It's actually done in plenty of time. I will be shipping it off to Wisconsin in a few weeks. One of the baby quilts is for a co-worker...... I made one for a boy, and one for a girl. She has chosen not to find out what she's having........

Raggly Baby Boy quilt

Ok, I know I haven't posted anything in awhile. I have 2 quilts that just need binding. I have one quilt at the quilters. Those 3 are all big quilts. Now it's time to work on baby quilts for awhile. 2 of my co-workers are pregnant. Both are due in May. One of them is having a boy for sure. This quilt is for her. I used two of the fabrics I got at the quilt show last fall - the little cowboy and indian print and the light red with white horseshoes. They are both from the Johnny & Buck line, by Chloe's Closet - a Moda fabric. I'm not sure what year it came out, but it had to have been a few years ago. It's really hard to find. I didn't know what it was when I bought it, I just thought it was cute.

The smooth side is the back. I wasn't sure how all these fabrics would work together, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

Mug Shot Quilt

I made this quilt top awhile back, and just finished it this week. It's going to baby "N". The animal blocks remind me of mug shots....... :)

It's back in blue and white dots of random size..... I also used this fabric for the binding.

fun stuff came in the mail!

I'm having a downer kind of a day.....our furnace quit working, and it sounds like we need a new one..... this one WAS new in 1998, which doesn't seem all that long ago, but I guess stuff happens! It has a cracked heat exchanger, and in this condition, we can not use it at all..... danger of carbon monoxide poisioning...... so in the meantime, we run the gas fireplace, keep the oven on, and use a small space heater...


My friend Julie sent me some fun stuff... It came in the mail today. She hand decorated the envelope.




Inside, there were these fun gift tags! She had been telling me how she had made valentines for the pre-schoolers..... they sounded so neat, and I believe she used the same technique to make these.....



It's made my day a whole lot better! Another good thing......... we are having a wine tasting at our store this afternoon. Nothing like a little wine to warm your toes! :)

Quilt Top Done

I finished this quilt top today. It's for son #2. He's currently attending college in Tennessee - Recording Industry is his major.

I've had some of the fabric for awhile. I kind of had an idea, but wasn't exactly sure. Then I found this guitar fabric. I thought it would work well for a quilt for him. I apologize for the quality of the picture.... I thought it was better! I promise I'll show you a better one when it's all quilted and bound. The guitar fabric will be the backing.
