Another Finish......

The pattern is Yellow Brick Road by Atkinson Designs.  This is the full size version, a "late" wedding gift for a couple that was married last September.  I'm linking this up to Bonnie Hunter (Quiltville's) "What's on Your Bed?"  Even though this won't be on my bed for long, I wanted to show it off.....
It's kind of funny - I tool pictures with it on my bed (please ignore the mess in the background) and pictures of it outside.  The ones I took inside without a flash actually turned out better than the outdoor ones.

Here's a close-up of the quilting.  It was sent out to a long-arm quilter - I'm not sure of her name, but it's one I normally don't use.  The quilting is really cute - she did a great job.  I just drop my quilts off at my local quilt shop, and the owner sends them out to be quilted.  She has 2 ladies that she normally uses, and then a couple that she uses as "overflow".  This went out to one of the "overflow" quilters!  :)

The lovely quilting carries over into the border as well.
The binding is Grunge, by Basic Grey.  I love that fabric!

John's Quilt

I first showed you this quilt top here.  It was last September, and the grass was nice and green...
I finally got the binding sewn on last weekend.  I've only had it back from the quilter since November, and I managed to fall a little behind with binding.  I still have 2 to go, but of course I'm working on a new project instead...
Anyhow, my intent was to hang it on the clothesline with the stripes going horizontally across the the quilt.  Of course I didn't notice that I didn't hang it that way until I was back in the house and downloading the pictures onto my computer.  So, lay your head on your shoulder to get the full effect.... :)
The back is pieced with random leftovers...crappy picture, I know...
It washed up really nice and soft.

"Dream On" is finished!

I finally finished the "Dream On" quilt.  I bought the fabric last fall, at the quilt show in Des Moines.  I actually bought it from the Quilted Forest booth.  The Quilted Forest is a quilt shop in Forest City, Iowa.  I only live about 20 miles from Forest City.  Basically I drove all the way to Des Moines (about 150 miles) to buy the fabric I could have bought from the same people, and would have only driven 20 miles.  Oh well...... the quilt show was a lot of fun... :)  I am looking forward to going again this year..... it happens to fall on my wedding anniversary this year!
Quilting was done by a long-arm quilter at the Quilted Forest.

Back of "Dream On".  If you wait long enough, the fabric goes on clearance........ that's what I did!

Every time I look at this quilt, I hear Steven Tyler singing (more like wailing, I guess!)"Dream on, dream on, dream on, dream until your dreams........"

Black and White quilt

The black and white "snapshot" quilt is finished. The backing is black with white polka dots. Nothing fancy. It was machine quilted (not by me)! I finished hand sewing the binding last night, then I washed and dried it. It will be a wedding gift for a special couple. It is approximately 68" square....... give or take a little....

Wicked Easy Quilt

I haven't actually blogged from blogger in a long time.... I have been using Flickr, but when blogging directly from Flickr, I can only post one photo..... If anyone knows a way to get more than 1 photo up at a time with Flickr, please let me know!

Anyhow, I just finished sewing the binding on this quilt. It's called the Wicked Easy Quilt, and believe me, it is easy. I left out the folded inner border, as I thought the person who was quilting it for me really didn't need that flapping around and in the way. I had a link posted for the pattern, but for some reason, it doesn't work. If you Google "Wicked Easy Quilt" you can find the pattern.

I edited the pictures with Flickr. I'm not sure which one is more true to color.....

A few finishes....in no particular order

I know, I haven't written anything in a few weeks. There's really not much going on around here. The weather keeps teasing us.... spring, then back to winter again, etc. I did finish 2 baby quilts, and one big quilt. The big quilt is a graduation gift. It's actually done in plenty of time. I will be shipping it off to Wisconsin in a few weeks. One of the baby quilts is for a co-worker...... I made one for a boy, and one for a girl. She has chosen not to find out what she's having........
