I can't remember exactly where I first saw the "Scrap Vomit" quilt. It might have been here. After seeing that one, I found lots more online... like here. I found the tutorial on "I'm a Ginger Monkey's" blog, here...
Well, I finished my Scrap Vomit top this morning. I think maybe I tried to use up too many of my uglies at all once...
I'm not loving it. I think it actually looks better in this picture than it does in person. Maybe it just needs to grow on me. This quilt will be a wedding gift for my daughter-in-law's sister. The wedding is in July, so I'm hoping that leaves me plenty of time for the quilter to work her magic.....I decided it's probably best if I don't share the name of this quilt with the bride and groom. :)
Charlie went to the dog groomer yesterday. His friend Ozzie (Julie's dog) had the appointment right after Charlie's. Between Ozzie and Charlie, she cut/shaved off a lot of hair. I wonder what she does with all that?? Anyhow, Charlie was pretty tired out when we got home. I tried to take his picture, but he wasn't cooperating. This was the best I could do......
Now we just need some warm weather!

It looks like a warm, comfy, bed quilt. Thank you for sharing a picture and links to the journey.
Your quilt looks great! I have seen a lot of these and thanks for sharing.
I like it. And it probably is one of those that will grow on you. I have one made with 4" squares years ago that I still enjoy seeing.
I like the scrappiness of it. Since you don't love it, it will be easier to give it away anyway. Is that bad to think that way?
I am saving all those neck ties they put on the groomed dogs. I figure he needs a quilt for when I have all his hair clipped off and he feels so bare.
I am very picky about my own scrap quilts because of slight o.c.d. But when I see everyone else's scrap quilts they look awesome! Plus, quilts are made with love and love isn't ugly, ever. :)
Better late than never! I really like it - keep saying I'll do one myself - soon :)
here by way of Joe Tulips. LOVE your scrap vomit quilt - it's fantastic, truly. I'm always willing to take it off your hands ;-)
