Hazy pinwheel blocks

Hazy pinwheel blocks by hammskaren

The "pinwheels in the house" blocks are finished. I made 30 of them, and all of them are different. Here's a sampling of them... it was really hot and humid outside...... even at 7:30 p.m. I had to wipe the condensation off the camera lens..... and I'm sure I didn't get it all, which is what gives the picture that "hazy" look. I am working on something with all the 1.5" scrap strips.... I cut extra. I will show you in a day or two...

A sneak peek on what I'm currently working on... they are really time consuming! I'm planning to have one more round of strips.

Fun Birthday gifts

I recently had one of those big, milestone birthday's. I had a great time celebrating, and have decided that being 50 is not so bad..... like I could do anything about it anyhow. I received some wonderful gifts for my birthday, and would like to share a few of them with you... This quilted wall hanging was made by Julie. Right now it's hanging on my dining room wall, but I need to move it into my quilting area. Mr. Small Town got me the Accuquilt Go. It's a lot of fun...... I have been cutting squares and triangles... the die that came with it. I'll show you some of those later... and the cute little shelf sitter that says "quilting" is from a co-worker. It's sitting on my shelf in the dining room, and it just might stay there....

Wicked Easy Quilt

I haven't actually blogged from blogger in a long time.... I have been using Flickr, but when blogging directly from Flickr, I can only post one photo..... If anyone knows a way to get more than 1 photo up at a time with Flickr, please let me know!

Anyhow, I just finished sewing the binding on this quilt. It's called the Wicked Easy Quilt, and believe me, it is easy. I left out the folded inner border, as I thought the person who was quilting it for me really didn't need that flapping around and in the way. I had a link posted for the pattern, but for some reason, it doesn't work. If you Google "Wicked Easy Quilt" you can find the pattern.

I edited the pictures with Flickr. I'm not sure which one is more true to color.....

Here are a few of the finished blocks. They aren't pressed yet, and the colors did not photograph well, but you get the idea...

I took a picture of the fabric I'll be making a quilt out of. I got the pieces all cut last night... I used 4 of the fat quarters from the stack in back, and all of the pieces of Prince Charming on the table. Maybe I can start sewing tonight!

Central Park

Central Park by hammskaren

Here's my most recent finished quilt. It's made with 2 charm packs of Moda's Central Park by Kate Spain. I also added a few random purple and yellow squares as well. I quilted on either side of the seams - approximately 1/2 inch from the seam. The backing is a sold yellow-orange. Bound in yellow with white polka dots.
